Therapist Overview
My ideal clients actively collaborate in a non-judgmental, respectful, compassionate, therapeutic setting to uncover and process unresolved trauma that prevents them from realizing their goals. We discuss the benefits and risks of therapy, as we develop workable solutions that are tailored to clients’ personalities, and use empirical assessments to monitor clients’ progress toward personal goals, increased self-awareness, and self-actualization. I use empirically validated tools to promote clients’ functioning, particularly those tools clients have used successfully in the past. The idea is to empower clients, change obstacles into opportunities for growth, promote self-efficacy and self-esteem. Clients are the experts on themselves. My job is to listen to their concerns, explore how these concerns impact their lives, collaborate on empirically-based strategies to mitigate stressors, using clients’ own insights and strengths to facilitate the healing process.
