Therapy only works when there is a “sense of connection”. Research discovered that for therapy to be successful, the client needed to have a feeling of connection. There are two parts to that: 1. You feel like the therapist really knows what they are doing. 2. You feel like the therapist REALLY gets who you are. For me, the art in therapy is the ability to listen between the lines to be able to understand the nuances that make you, you.
