Therapist Overview
I believe children are resilient, and my goal is to help them realize their strengths so they may develop into the strong, capable individuals they are meant to be. I enjoy working with children and their families using positive communication, play therapy, art, and self expression to help children feel more grounded, confident, and safe expressing themselves and their feelings. I have a gentle, kind nature and take the time to understand each child’s unique self-expression of their symptoms and strengths. I focus on implementing coping skills and social skills for children who struggle with behavioral or emotional stressors. I have experience in trauma therapy and TF-CBT, as well as experience using exposure therapy, play therapy, solution focused theory, and mindfulness and grounding exercises for children and adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, PTSD, ADHD, and OCD. Using a more warm, nurturing approach, my goal is to build positive and trusting relationships with my clients and their family members, while working at the client’s pace to meet the client where they are, making sure they feel involved and heard during their treatment. I tailor each treatment plan to my client’s needs and developmental milestones.
