Therapist Overview
My focus is to guide each client towards building a sense of competency, resourcefulness and recognizing that they hold the key to their own healing. I will explore current behaviors with clients and help them figure out which ones are inhibiting progress, and which ones are serving them. I also like to look at the past and family of origin to find what has been successful, and examine the parts of the past that hold each person back from growth. My job is to be a fellow traveler in this exploration, and to recognize each client is unique in their approach to the world and will need their own set of tools to solve their problems. My specialty is working from an empowered social justice lens to help the client understand their place in the world and the role they play in it. I use behavioral modification, mindfulness, body awareness and visualization to help them discover their deeper underlying narratives and help them create new, more satisfactory narratives from which to live. I think all perspectives and walks of life hold value and lessons to be learned. I want to help you grow from your past, by building insight into how you got to where you are today, and guide you into a healthier and more autonomous future.
