Therapist Overview
I AM ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS. I am a therapist based in Westminster, MD who has a special interest in helping people who have suffered traumas from religious systems or people, churches, or family members. I have over 20 years of experience of pastoral counseling, coaching, training, and teaching people through many of the most difficult emotional barriers & roadblocks that we face. I am committed to providing a safe space for all people no matter their ethnicity, gender, religion, culture, or race and I bring the 20+ years of working directly with people with me into every session. I am an empathetic and encouraging counselor who believes in working collaboratively with my clients. I approach counseling from a narrative therapy perspective. You are an expert in your story, not me. My role is to come alongside you as we walk together and to listen for themes and meanings that you have given to your experiences and stories. I understand what it is like to experience a loss / change of your belief system and how completely disorienting and confusing this can be. As someone who has been diagnosed with PTSD, I have great empathy and understanding for people dealing with traumas. I am very comfortable talking (or not talking) about issues of faith.
