As a school counselor for 20+ years, I know the challenges of childhood/adolescence. Children are survivors of grief and trauma. They experience family changes and friendship worries. They may learn or socialize differently. Children sometimes feel anxious or depressed and their emotions may significantly impact behaviors. Often these challenges interfere with children’s school success and stability at home. Through intentional care and child friendly therapeutic strategies, my goal is to help children thrive through it all. Utilizing play, art, games, and bibliotherapy, children can learn to feel safe sharing their thoughts, understanding their emotions and regulating their behaviors.
