Therapist Overview
I believe all humans are messy and imperfect; my goal is to assist clients in embracing and accepting the chaotic nature of life while nurturing growth and mastery over new skills and ways of coping with losses, traumas and ways in which life throws unexpected changes our way. I work creatively and flexibly with populations from 6 years old to 70 years old. I work from a person-centered, interpersonal view, believing we must all accept our gifts and shortcomings before change can happen. While I approach therapy from a client-centered, attachment perspective, I also utilize a background of Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy and other research based treatment modalities. I also implement Play therapy, Somatic Experiencing and EMDR; which assist clients in making a whole mind-body shift when processing traumas. I understand how scary and overwhelming it can be to sit across from a stranger and reveal the deepest parts of yourself; and as a witness, I do not take this responsibility lightly. I strive to build a relationship in which honest feedback is welcomed. I hope to create safety and share in an open and authentic exploration of what it is to be human.
