Therapist Overview
My approach to therapy is both warm and collaborative. I listen intuitively, and respect the client’s expertise on her/his own experience. In therapy sessions, we are partners in identifying and building on your strengths. Together, we clarify your goals and clear away obstacles so you can move forward. I hold a master’s degree from Bank Street College of Education and I am completing my master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. My interests include couples, parenting, single parenting, blending families, struggling teens, and multigenerational effects on families as the oldest generation ages. I taught 2’s through teens, and was a nursery school director for fifteen years. I have 25 years experience with children and families at the school and privately. I have a special interest in preventive psychotherapy; preparing clients for life transitions such as marriage, parenthood, school entry, transitions to college and to work, retirement and aging.
