Therapist Overview
As a licensed clinical social worker, I work with individuals and families about personal life challenges they are facing. At this unusual time of living within the context of the coronavirus pandemic, which by itself is significant, are the relevant issues of work and school, relationships, loss and grief. My approach is to work collaboratively with a client, focusing on strengths and the person’s natural inclination to move toward balance. Therapy is an opportunity to address and support change and growth. There are many strategies that facilitate change. A person has to decide whether working in partnership with a psychotherapist, one of many treatment approaches, is best for you. If you choose therapy, you’ll find you will make other decisions that positively affect you and the important relationships in your life. My training is in structural family therapy. I use emotion-focused, attachment-based and mindfulness interventions as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
