Trauma can make us feel disconnected from those around us. Our minds are phenomenal at adjusting to even the most extreme circumstances, but sometimes it is difficult to return to a normal way of functioning even after the threat is gone. Sometimes our lives have been so filled with trauma that we can’t even define what “normal” is. All we know is that we feel alone, anxious, perhaps even caught up in cycles of behaviors that we know are destructive but just can’t seem to stop. I take a “fellow traveler” approach to healing, accompanying you on your journey to heal wounds and form lasting relationships with others. I provide therapeutic space for clients to work through the issues that make them feel stuck. For my adult clients, this means discovering and helping meet unmet core needs. For my child clients, this means processing through their natural language of play and helping parents form secure attachments that can support their children for a lifetime. I cannot deliver a magical cure-all to “rescue” you from everything you are struggling with. After all, struggling is part of the human experience. I can say that I can be with you authentically on this journey as we work toward making these struggles less frequent and intense, allowing you more energy to grow into the person you are meant to be.
