Taking a step towards healing shows your inner strength at play. I approach therapy with this idea in mind. Each person has their own personal strengths that they bring with them. I believe my role as a therapist is to not only hold space for the difficult times, but to bring to light my client’s inner strengths that will assist them in taking steps towards building a life worth living. Goals for therapy are based on what you are looking to work towards. The therapy hour is not about me and my agenda, but rather you, and your needs, wants, and overall goals. Congratulations on taking the first step towards healing and growth. I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of clients in various settings. I believe that the therapeutic relationship (trust), is the first step towards assisting my clients in meeting their goals. I work from a Gestalt orientation and encourage mindful awareness to promote change, while utilizing a variety of additional interventions. Not every therapist is the right therapist for every person. That being said the next step is sending an email or calling. You will have the opportunity to share what you are looking for in a therapist as well as what challenges you are facing.
