Therapist Overview
With over 25 years of working with children, adolescents and parents, my therapy style is empowering, strength based, compassionate, creative and fun. I love working with tweens, teens and young adults who inspire me every day because growing up and finding one’s own way in life is hard, exciting and full of possibilities. I have a great deal of experience working in multicultural and LGBTQ+ supportive contexts. I am particularly skilled in working with those recovering from trauma, managing strong emotions, living with Autism or ADHD, exploring identity or those looking for more purpose, direction, peace, creativity or perspective. I provide highly individualized, collaborative therapy to suit your specific needs, personality and comfort level. I integrate techniques from a variety of theoretical orientations, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Social Thinking, EMDR, Mindfulness, Non-Violent Communication, Buddhist Psychotherapy IFT and Attachment Theory. After many years of working in community, school and Special Ed settings, I am an experienced guide for youth and their parents in navigating school and community resources in their transition to adulthood and independence. I have also practiced meditation for over twenty-five years and am an ordained Buddhist. Contact me for a free phone consultation.
