Therapist Overview
I specialize in all eating disorders and truly enjoy helping people create a better relationship with food and their body. My favorite related quote is “and I turned to my body and said I am ready to be your friend, it took a long sigh and voiced I have been waiting for this my whole life” by Nayyirah Waheed. I want all of my clients to have this! I want to help you reduce the amount of negativity/judgement associated with food/body, learn skills to cope with difficult thoughts/emotions, practice relapse prevention skills, and direct focus to your values in recovery. I operate from a Health at Every Size lens and am trauma informed. I have been working with eating disorders for 6 years. I have had the privilege to work 2 years each at the Eating Recovery Center of Washington PHP, Seattle Counseling Service, and am currently still with the Residential Emily Program. I don’t work solely with eating disorders as I am also passionate about the many issues listed. I respect direct feedback of how you would like your own counseling sessions to be run and I often provide tasks to work on outside of therapy. I am curious by nature and find that most clients appreciate my honesty, humor, and willingness to ask questions, speak openly, and give direct feedback.
