Therapist Overview
I try not to place any client in a box with my own ideal of what I would like a client to be like or how I would like them to work on something in therapy. All my clients have been unique in their own way and I have enjoyed getting to know them as individuals. As a therapist specializing in psychosis, I combine a CBT and DBT based approach to help individuals coping with psychosis decrease some of the stressors that might be increasing their symptoms as well as providing a safe/non-restrictive environment for them to engage about their struggle with ongoing symptoms. My objective with my clients is to create a safe space to openly explore topics that may present uncomfortable or taboo. I want to invite my clients to openly engage in conversation they feel they might have to guard or keep bottled up due to stigma or discrimination.
