Therapist Overview
Showing up is the most important and often hardest part of this process. Once you make it to the office, we can usually find a direction for change you feel connected to. If we don’t show up, change isn’t likely to occur. I don’t care if you are sad, angry, rageful, confused, indifferent, suicidal, or in despair, if you show up, I promise to do the same. If we can’t make space for the spectrum of our humanity in the therapeutic space then where can we? I believe people are genuinely trying to do the best they can with what they have, and sometimes what we have isn’t useful for the immediate situation. So, we get help. I have had the fortunate opportunity to work in various settings in my career including; alcohol & drug treatment, community health agencies, elementary, middle, high and charter schools, as well as private practice. I feel these experiences have enhanced my efficacy as a helping professional and allow me to work with various populations. Being a human being in this world can be very difficult at times, and my hope is to help people feel like they are not alone in this. I am most interested in creating a space and building a relationship where people can be or even begin to identify who they are, and realize that as a human they can handle anything the world has to throw at them.
