We often come to therapy when old habits or ways of coping aren’t working anymore, when we long for comfort- a shift- greater balance or deeper connections in our relationships. The whole person needs to be addressed in times of crisis, transition and loss. Healing is a word derived from the German hailjan, meaning βto make whole.β I work with a holistic, acceptance-based and contemplative approach to psychotherapy. The practice of self-compassion leads to less reactivity and more peaceful, integrated and intentional lives. The focus of my practice is moving more thoughtfully through our very human life transitions with less suffering: late-adolescence; women’s life transitions (infertility/pregnancy-loss/post-partum/menopause); body-image, body dysmorphia (disordered eating/compulsive exercise/ HAES and IE); divorce; trauma; grief and loss (anticipatory/ complicated grief).
