Therapist Overview
I’m both a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Special Education Intervention Specialist. I’ve been teaching in the K-12 public system for 18 years, which gives me a unique perspective when addressing a child’s emotional/behavioral concerns. While I counsel children individually, the therapeutic process is a family affair. By aligning with your family — not as a director, but as a partner, collaborator and coach — we can work as a team, along with school staff, to develop an effective strategy to address issues with disruptive behavior, academics, relationships, identity, and family conflicts. I work with disruptive behavior in home/school, anger issues, explosive episodes, behaviors associated with ADD/ADHD, issues related to emotional regulation, depression/anxiety, low self-esteem, confused/fragile identity, family dysfunction, special education advising, child/parent/sibling relationships, Mindfulness/meditation, and parent coaching. Frustrated. Exhausted. Out of ideas. Rearing a child who struggles with emotional/behavioral challenges is taxing to say the least. A disrupted home and strained relationships can cause lasting effects on a developing child and on a family as a whole. Let’s work together to heal your family and help your child. All kids are good kids.
