Online therapy is a form of professional mental health counseling that is generally performed through the internet and via video chat software such as Zoom. Online therapy is also referred to as teletherapy, telehealth, or online counseling. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, online therapy has become mainstream and this form of counseling has flourished as a safe and convenient way to improve mental health via one-on-one sessions with a qualified therapist or counselor.
