I have been in education for 13 years, 7 as a counselor. I have worked in the criminal justice system as a counselor for over a year. I began working in early childhood education at Amarillo Montessori Academy while in college where I learned about child development and best practices for early academic achievement. I spent most of my years in education at the junior high and high school levels. It was during my time as an elementary counselor at a refugee relocation site that I discovered my passion for social justice advocacy and working with at-risk populations. I am currently ABD in a PhD program at Texas Tech University. I have served locally and state-wide in professional counseling associations. I am passionate about serving my community and I hope to make mental health more accessible to all populations in the Texas Panhandle.
