Therapist Overview
As a clinician, an artist and a mother, I feel we are all at our best when we have a space to unpack what’s going on for us in our myriad roles in day to day life. I strive to foster a relationship with my clients that is rooted in the idea of acceptance, non-judgment, balance, and presence. My practice is rooted in both theory and play, in evidence-based practice models (CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, humanistic concepts, filial play) and integrative modalities (sand tray, expressive arts, meditation). I believe that though we all benefit from a therapeutic relationship, we arrive at healing from different places and with different tools. My approach is first and foremost to connect with my clients, to listen to their unique set of challenges and goals, and to offer them a variety of avenues to work on themselves. A session therefore may include motivational interviewing dialogue, painting, psycho education on resiliency and coping or guided meditation–or all of the above. I feel strongly that mental health challenges should not be stigmatized, and that individuals are much more than the diagnoses they may have received. I have experience working with diverse clientele including in palliative/hospice care, with children and adolescents, with veterans, and in crisis settings. I look forward to collaborating with new clients.
