Therapist Overview
I enjoy working with a wide array of people, with many different presenting problems. Over the course of my career I’ve been lucky to have done therapy work in several different settings, and consequently I like to take on a bit of everything. I want to make people feel open and comfortable with talking about whatever kinds of problems they might have. I tend to utilize cognitive behavioral therapy in my sessions, which is a way to make changes to a person’s thoughts by looking at how realistic they are. By making those changes to our thoughts, we can then make changes to our behavior. The end result is being able to be more mindful and intentional about what we do, and then get what we actually want. At its core, therapy is a process where people build a relationship that helps to make problems easier to manage. My goal in therapy is always to be like the navigator on your road trip: my job is to know the traffic and the shortcuts, not to lunge across the car and try and take the wheel from you.
