Therapist Overview
I am experienced in treating a myriad of issues, including anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma-related disorders. I work with individuals ages 11 and up, and provide a focus on helping people survive and thrive in the systems they live in, with particular focus on the ever present role that unresolved grief plays in many of our situations in which we feel “stuck”- unable to move forward with life. My clients benefit from learning what it is that is causing them to feel stuck, and then becoming empowered to take effective action in their own lives toward getting “un-stuck”. My typical client is simply ready to make real change. My style of therapy can best be described as direct, intuitive, a bit quirky, and deeply interpersonal. I find a connection with my clients beyond the things they say and do, and toward who they truly are. Past and current clients have affectionately referred to me as a healer, a confidante, or the therapist who sometimes seems more like a wise big brother. As an open and transparent fellow traveler on the road to self-discovery, I make a great companion- allowing the individual to maintain their position in the driver seat while respectfully and non-judgmentally offering a few shortcuts along the way. I hope you will afford me the privilege of joining you and your family on the journey inward, toward healing.
