Therapist Overview
I enjoy working with adults, adolescents and families. Areas of specialty include depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, disordered eating and eating disorders, perfectionism, and family conflict. I particularly enjoy working with adolescents and millennials as they transition to adulthood. My initial focus is on building trusting relationships and creating an environment in which clients feel truly seen and heard. I strive to create and sustain a nonjudgemental and safe space for my clients however they show up. I am LGBTQIA+ embracing. I am also proficient in Spanish and work with many bilingual adults and families. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over fifteen years of clinical experience, I earned my Masters of Social Work from Florida State University in 2006. I am fully licensed in the state of Texas and trained in several modalities, including EMDR and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My work is strengths-based, collaborative and inclusive. Often, clients come to therapy because they are facing a difficult life circumstance, perhaps feeling stuck in unhealthy patterns. I walk alongside clients as they find a pathway that makes sense and feels right. My guiding principles are connection, curiosity, vulnerability, acceptance, and compassion for self and others.
