Therapist Overview
During this stressful period of coping with the pandemic, Teletherapy is available so you won’t need to leave your home. I am a Licensed Psychologist and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Michigan. I have over thirty years of Post Doctorate clinical experience as an outpatient, private practice Psychologist in Lapeer. Throughout my career, I have practiced using a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach in helping others to better understand and overcome their self-defeating thoughts and behavior, to improve their level of functioning and attain their goals. People seek help when they are feeling overwhelmed and are struggling to cope with difficult personal and/or life events such as changes in their significant relationships, their careers, their feelings toward themselves and others. Not knowing how to resolve or cope with these changes can lead to feelings of depression, anxiety and dysfunctional behavior. As a counselor/psychotherapist, I see my role as providing individuals and/or couples with a secure, confidential, trusting environment in which they can learn to clearly understand their healthy and “normal” feelings and learn how to overcome self-defeating thoughts and behaviors that contribute to their emotional pain and dysfunction.
