We all have periods of struggle navigating life; work; and relationships. In my practice I focus on helping individuals and families identify troubling issues while increasing self understanding; coping skills and compassion for themselves and others with the goal of improving relationships and moving forward in life in accordance with their individual goals and values. In my 30+ years of practice I have worked with people from many different cultures including the LGBTQ+ community who are struggling with anxiety; mood disorders; and addiction issues. I am committed to helping and working collaboratively with my clients. I create a safe and collaborative space for my clients. I have post-graduate training in CBT; ACT; Psychodynamic modalities and Gerontology. I work with families dealing with mental health issues as well as aging. I am a Maryland State Board Approved Supervisor with over 20+ years as a Field Instructor; I provide supervision for MSWs working on licensure I maintain a deep belief in our capacity to change and grow despite the challenges we have confronted in life. I utilize a variety of modalities including CBT; Psychodynamic; Motivational Interviewing; and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy but always practice with an emphasis on empathy and understanding the unique needs of the individual client.
