Therapist Overview
We all deserve to experience emotional security, a feeling of belonging, self-esteem, and to be pursuing meaningful goals and achieving life milestones. And with the right support, anyone can. I serve clients across the lifespan with this end in mind. Children, adolescents, and young adults are uniquely vulnerable populations in that their identities are still forming and they are often reliant on adults to meet their basic needs. As we age we can feel unfulfilled, hopeless, and disconnected from the world. These issues can manifest as substance abuse, depression, anxiety, anger, impulsivity, self-harm, and even suicidal thoughts. I have worked with hundreds of clients in a variety of settings, and over the last 15 years have enjoyed supporting individuals, families, and couples. By focusing on communication, unpacking feelings, and prioritizing strengths, I support clients in developing a healthier sense of self and pursuing the goals that are important to them. In addition to my practice, I am a Ph.D. Candidate at the University at Albany researching risk behavior and vulnerability as it pertains to coping and crisis. We’re all looking for the best ways to overcome stressors in our lives. I am eager to offer my experience and knowledge to individuals and families seeking support. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.
