Therapist Overview
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who served as an Iraq combat Veteran. I believe life can be challenging for all of us and often presents us with obstacles that prevent us from living life to the fullest. During my time working in medical social work, and in-patient psychiatric hospitals doing individual and group therapy with children and adults, I have learned people are resilient, and hold the keys to a stronger and happier future. In therapy feeling comfortable with your therapist is essential in making therapeutic progress. I provide transparency, honesty, and a non-judgmental, confidential, and relaxing environment I use a client centered approach, CBT, and solution focused therapy to encourage my clients to identify the strengths that lie within them. I have experience in helping people with depression, PTSD, Oppositional Defiance Disorder and anger management. I have experience working with teenagers, adults, Veterans, first responders, and the geriatric population. I am a native to Washington State where I joined the Army and was stationed in Germany and Texas. After my time in the Army I worked for the El Paso Sheriffs department for 3 years. I earned my Bachelor in Social Work from the University of Texas El Paso and moved to attend the UTSA, where I later earned my masters in Social Work.
