Therapist Overview
I see a variety of clients, but mainly I specialize in working with children ages 3-10. Most clients see me for continuing and maintaining healthy relationships with their parents/guardians. Although, I have seen and continue to see others with more severe attachment, or even traumatic backgrounds from abusive homes. My hope is that through fostering a safe, healthy, and consistent relationship with your child, that your child can begin to work on self-responsibility, self-esteem, self-confidence, and ultimately a self-actualization and understanding of self, and hopefully a parent’s better understanding of their child as well. I specialize in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), a holistic, developmentally appropriate model of child counseling that focuses on the safe relationship between counselor and child, to further help foster consistent, healthy and expressive exploration of the child’s self through the child’s natural form of communication, play. I take great pride and care in working with the families that I see, and I hope yours will be no different! I see myself as a warm, kind, and humorous person that listens when needing to be listened to, and helps when needing to be helped. I always tell my parents that you’re the expert on your child, and I’m the expert on play therapy, so let’s collaborate!
