Therapist Overview
ONLINE VIDEO AND AUDIO SESSIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE! I am passionate about working with people during difficult times and life transitions, and right now is one of those times. Trying situations can sometimes cause depression, anxiety, grief, post-traumatic symptoms, and loss of self-esteem. I utilize a wide range of treatment methods including DBT, CBT, solution-focused, family systems, and person-centered to help people work through and process these types of symptoms. I have a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Wayne State University and a Bachelors degree in Secondary Education from Central Michigan University. I served eight years in the U.S. Army with a one-year deployment to Afghanistan, and I worked as a high school reading intervention teacher for five years. My background as a high school teacher has given me much experience with the adolescent and young adult age group. My time with the military has offered me a worldly perspective on life and allowed me to work with people from across the globe. I would also say that I have a better understanding of some of the unique issues that veterans deal with like PTSD.
