I love working throughout the lifespan focusing on providing play therapy to children, activity based therapy and expressive arts to adolescents, and talk therapy with adults. I utilize expressive arts, talk therapy, and activity therapy in my work with families based on the structure of the family and what their goals are. Goals in working with children include increasing their self-esteem, self-efficacy, and ability to self-regulate their behavior and emotions. I also work with parents to increase the child-parent relationship and provide parents with additional tools to help their child. In partnership with the client we build a therapeutic relationship based on unconditional acceptance of client, genuineness, empathy, and trust. These qualities are important for the client to feel safe enough to work through experiences including grief, loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationship conflict, and conflict within self. When a client invites me into their world and their experiences, it is such an honor to be a part of their process of healing.
