Therapist Overview
My work with families is grounded in my belief that children and parents “do well if they can” and that any parent’s deepest desire is to see their child succeed. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where children and teens are able to work through challenging emotions, develop better self-regulation in moments of distress, improve their self-esteem, and feel more connected in their relationships. I specialize in working with youth who are GT and twice-exceptional, and those who struggle with anxiety and fitting in: helping them to explore identity issues and gain confidence in valuing what makes them unique and special. I have extensive training in the Collaborative Problem Solving model which gives me a unique approach when working with individuals that struggle in areas of thinking flexibly, are easily frustrated, and for whom traditional models of parenting, behavioral intervention, and/or therapy have been unsuccessful. My 20 years of experience as a school psychologist
