Therapist Overview
My goal is to support your resilience and connection to that which helps you thrive. We’ll explore the areas of your life that are interfering with this flow, allowing space for anything and everything that needs to come up. Drawing on a somatic, or body-oriented approach to psychotherapy, we may pay attention to how your thoughts, emotions and feelings are being stored or expressed in the body. This approach can be useful in helping us discover unconscious blocks AND resources in you, allowing you to gain a more embodied sense of self and wellness. A somatic approach to talk therapy may look like simply bringing your attention to your physical experiences (sensations, breathing, gestures) or using movement or objects in the room to help support our work together as we explore your story. Oftentimes when we acknowledge and engage the body in our lived experience, we discover new realms of healing. A safe and supportive environment is essential in doing this work. I will gently challenge you to move through the parts that are stuck, that are no longer serving you. We will also highlight the parts of you that are resilient and vital. Clients have described me as warm, gentle, direct, compassionate and funny. I look forward to meeting you.
