Therapist Overview
With more than 30 years experience as a mental health professional-individual, group, and family therapist and educator of graduate social work students, I work with all ages, utilizing a variety of treatment modalities. For me, the relationship between therapist and client is central to safe, confidential, supportive exploration of all aspects of the human experience. It is out of this relationship that I help craft an individual plan with strategies tailored to achieve each person’s goals. My doctoral work centered on issues related to infertility and grief/loss. Other special areas of interest include: parenting, marital/couple issues, illness, aging, grandparenting, and the complex process of life’s meaning and mystery. While I work mostly with individuals, family therapy and groups are also available. I work in both Traverse City and in Benzie County (Frankfort, Beulah, Benzonia, and Honor). Most insurance accepted; sliding scale fees available.
