My philosophy of therapy is that individuals heal through the relationship they develop with an experienced therapist in a warm, accepting environment. Life can be difficult and we all develop ways to help us cope. Often the ways that we learn to cope can do more damage than good, over time. In these instances, it’s important to learn new ways of managing oneself in tough times. Therapy can help you learn alternative ways of coping and taking good care of yourself. It can also help to change any distorted perceptions you may have developed of yourself through past, difficult experiences. As you walk this path with me, you may notice that my work with you is influenced by my long-term study of meditative practices. Our work together may include meditation and ways to use the benefits of it in your day to day life, to help you let go of negative thinking and return to the present moment experience.
