Therapist Overview
My ideal client is one who is willing to form a partnership in which together we can identify needs and goals to achieve and maintain. I believe in working collaboratively, as opposed to unilaterally. My client may not yet know specifically what their needs are at the start, but we will figure it out. Therapy should not last forever, so we will work to discover solutions together. My clients will have a desire to effect change in their lives, including issues associated with mood regulation, inattentiveness, opposition and/or defiance, personality disorders, substance abuse, other concerns identified by the client. Utilizing a Cognitive Behavioral approach, particularly with adolescents and adults, we will identify emotions and thought patterns that help or hinder success and work to address them. Other therapeutic approaches may also be utilized, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Experiential Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. First and foremost, I am very good at building rapport and therapeutic alliance with my clients quickly. If you don’t think I believe in you, you definitely will not have confidence in my ability to help you! So, I will work hard to gain and maintain your confidence.
