Natasha V Chang

I specialize in working with adults, emerging adults and older adolescents from diverse racial, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. I have an MS in Counseling from the University of Vermont, and a background in higher education. As a result, I bring to my practice both deep knowledge about many socio-cultural factors and power dynamics that can profoundly affect a person’s lived experiences, as well as deep humility about the limits of my knowledge. In my practice –according to clients needs and wishes– I use traditional talk therapy and EMDR, an integrative therapy that employs a body-based technique called bilateral stimulation. My style is warm, compassionate, inclusive, and non-judgmental. My approach assumes that you have within you vast resources for healing and transformation. I draw primarily from client-centered, feminist, attachment-based, and trauma-informed practices, and I am committed to the use of culturally affirming, and empowerment-based frameworks. It can be challenging to find a therapist who you connect with, who makes space for all aspects of your identity, and who can provide the support and understanding you need and deserve.
