Life has more than enough obstacles, challenges and events that leave us with wounds. And, while we have family and friends that try to be of help, often we don’t get the best, unbiased advice. Counselors are the friendly ear, the non-judgmental person, with a broad perspective to help you get through those times when life gets difficult. Transitions such as marriage or divorce, or the loss of family or friends, as well as accidents, or the activities of being a policeman, fireman or soldier, brings overwhelming life events that call for a trained professional to guide and help bring resolve to those things. The traumas of life can gain relief and healing through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is a therapy easier than the name may sound. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is done in a group setting and provides skills to deal with the emotional challenges of life. Many deal with depression and anxiety and there are tools to help. Life isn’t meant to be done alone, so reach out to me to be that empathic person, that will listen to you, and sit with you, as you move toward the change that you want, or the healing that you need.
