I became a therapist because I believe therapy can help heal emotional wounds, give us coping strategies to change behavior, and make life more fulfilling. My aim is to work with you to enhance your understanding of who you are, deepen your compassion for yourself, and help you eliminate any barriers that are holding you back –so you can build your “self” into the person you long to be. I started working with adolescents and families in the 1980’s. Strengths-based and person-centered, I work primarily with adults and adolescents. I use an eclectic mix of evidence-based therapy modalities and tools, including CBT and mindfulness, and have been trained in basic EMDR, an effective method to desensitize and reprocess trauma memories.
