Therapist Overview
I support adults, adolescents, and children alike in navigating challenges to include anxiety, depression, grief, and feelings of overwhelm. I employ a person-centered, individualized, strengths-based approach to help each client achieve his or her identified goals. As both a counselor and an art therapist, I employ both traditional counseling (“talk therapy”) as well as image-making and the creative process to support healing, transformation, wellness, and growth. I incorporate mindfulness into sessions to enhance integration of insights and learned skills. I hold a 200 hour vinyasa yoga certification as well as additional training in restorative yoga. I am a Navy daughter and previous Army wife and am knowledgeable about the unique rewards and challenges. I have extensive experience with trauma-informed therapy and my research includes ways to improve treatment options for eating disorders.
