Therapist Overview

I work with couples and individuals, and welcome the LGBTQ community. My therapeutic goals are to teach couples effective communication, rather than act as a referee. I provide education and teach skills that clients continue to use, to keep communication on track, including emotional regulation. When partners are in an emotionally heightened state, it is difficult to communicate effectively. I work to help clients master this skill, as we move into difficult subject matter. I meet with couples from 90 minutes to two hours, because as relational counseling goes, one hour sessions have not been as effective in my experience. My current work focuses on adults who are seeking greater understanding of themselves and increasing their ability to enjoy life, as well as their relationships with others. My main areas of focus are couples counseling, addictions, and codependency. Members of the LGBTQ community are warmly welcomed for both individual and couples counseling. I am a Masters Level C
