Therapist Overview

I recognize the many life challenging struggles an individual can be faced with. Therapy can be viewed as stigmatizing and can discourage people to seek mental health support. It is very important for people to choose to seek help on their own and not be forced. A person should want to feel supported and encouraged when going through these struggles and choosing therapy can be one of those benefits. My approach is to cultivate hope, develop healthier coping skills and facilitate meaningful change in your life in a sensitive and compassionate manner. I seek to develop a treatment plan that is sensitive and realistic to the many demands of clients, understanding the “real life challenges” of divorce, parenting, financial hardships, and trauma. My education background includes a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Dominican University in River Forest, IL and I am currently enrolled in a Doctorate program of Social Work at Aurora University. As a bilingual Spanish/English speaking and culturally competent therapist, I place special value on recognizing cultural norms while working with Latinos.
