Hello and welcome! I have experience working with people with trauma, domestic violence, veterans’ issues, depression, anxiety, grief and loss. I like to begin by getting to know my client and their specific needs so that we can work together to identify the goals for therapy and devise a plan of action for treatment. I take an integrative person-centered approach to therapy with my clients. My clients tell me I am a compassionate, non-judgmental therapist. I am available to work with clients from all walks of life. I have especially enjoyed working with the LGBT Center, Safe Shelter Homeless Pgm., and the American Cancer Society. I enjoy getting to know the clients on a personal basis. We develop short and long-term goals based on their preferences. I offer culturally-sensitive, inclusive services with respect for the client’s definition of self. I offer the option of short-term counseling. At times, a visit or two may be all that is needed to help clients move forward. Listening is my favorite approach. I am especially sensitive to the ambivalence which most people feel when facing a decision and I work, using Motivational Interviewing techniques and others, to help the client determine his/her goals and achieve success.
