Therapist Overview
Childhood can bring big challenges. Children deal with difficult transitions, feelings of loss and sometimes even traumatic events. Kids need a place where they can process their sadness, frustration and loss in a way that is tailored to the way children think, feel and understand their world. When children are able to process their feelings through play therapy, and their parents are able to support this process at home, the child learns to feel safe again and begins to thrive in his/her own world again. I am new to East Dallas Psychotherapy, I’m excited to join this team that already serves adults & teens by focusing on kids! I have experience working with clients from a variety of cultural, social-economic backgrounds working with attachment, trauma and behavior problems in children. I also have worked with families with special needs in most cases a child or sibling with a physical disability. I also offer counseling from a Christian perspective only when clients request this. You are taking a brave step by seeking help for your child. If you are wondering if counseling is right for you or your child please call for a free consultation. I offer in person play therapy and parent consultations, as well as tele-therapy sessions.
