Do you feel like you don’t have any idea where to start or what steps to take to reach the life you want for yourself? These are common concerns at any stage of life and exploring these questions is one of the many benefits of seeing a counselor. As your counselor, my job is to walk with you through the ebbs and flows of daily life as you work towards your goals. It is not my job to push you to change who you are. You are the expert in your own life and counseling is a journey we take together. My work with clients is primarily focused around cognitive-behavioral approaches to counseling – we may not have control over much in our lives, but we can choose to change the messages we are sending ourselves and the behaviors that reinforce them. However, my goal is to follow the approach that works best for you at any given time – flexibility is key! No one wants to enter a new relationship and be judged for the things they are thinking and feeling. My goal as your counselor will be to make you feel accepted and seen throughout our work together.
