Therapist Overview
Hello, my name is Emily. Thank you for taking the time to read my page. It’s very likely you’ve read several therapists’ bios. The process of choosing a therapist can be daunting, and you’re likely already feeling very overwhelmed. I would like to ease this process for you. That doesn’t mean you won’t encounter periods of discomfort, or times of challenge. Whether you are looking to cope with stress in a more healthy manner, better regulate your emotions, or improve relationships with others, I can work with you to discover what strategies will work best for you and assist you in exercising these strategies in practical ways. Since graduating from GVSU in 2013, I have had experience in a variety of settings: Emergency Departments; Long Term Acute Care; Inpatient & Partial Psychiatric Hospitalization programs. I have worked with clients struggling with a multitude of issues, including: depression; anxiety; suicidal/self-harm ideation; mood disorders; personality disorders. I utilize a variety of pragmatic treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, person-centered, and solutions- focused. Therapy should be customized as not every person, nor situation, is identical. I am currently available Mondays 6:15-9:15PM; Tuesdays & Thursdays 8:15AM-4:45PM; E/O Saturday 9AM-1:00PM.
