Therapist Overview
Sometimes I feel lonely in a crowd, even in a crowd of my friends. Sometimes I feel like nothing I do will ever be good enough. Sometimes when I walk into a room, I try to avoid eye contact for fear that I will be seen, yet deep inside, all I want is for someone to actually see me. Does this describe you? If so, you are not the only one. A lot of people feel this way, especially those who have experienced difficult childhoods. No matter how successful they may appear on the outside, it’s hard to shake the “I’m not enough feeling.” Can you relate? During our time with one another, I will ask that you share with me your story so I may learn where the feelings of unworthiness and shame come from. And then together, we will explore new ways to release their power over you. This may involve grieving the idea of the “perfect” life, as well as help you to gain perspective into your current reality. I will actively engage in the therapy process with you. Using humor, warmth, and compassion, I promise to offer you a non-judgmental space where you can safely express yourself fully – your thoughts, feelings, fears, and more. Our work will not end just because you are feeling better. The objective is to guide you towards getting better.
