Therapist Overview
The counseling relationship thrives when you are able to be open, knowing that your vulnerable stories will be received with empathy and acceptance. Whatever struggles you feel now or whatever barrier is impeding your goals, whether it be depression, anxiety, addiction, or unresolved trauma, the safety of a comfortable counseling relationship is the first step to begin healing. I believe everyone has the ability to develop resilience and function in this world as their true self, despite any pain or fear previously blocking your path. My goal is to help you live confidently as your true self, even if that means embracing our quirks. My experience with diverse populations enables me to meet a variety of needs, using an integrative approach promoting development of self awareness and health of the physical, emotional and spiritual self. Such experience enables me to remain flexible with my approach to therapy, and I do not practice from a rigid perspective regarding definitions of health. I have built a significant history working with health care professionals and first responders and feel confident that I can understand and empathize with the challenges and needs of those unique populations. My counseling experience also includes working with families with autistic children(support to caregivers) forensic populations, addiction and trauma.
