Too often we compete for support from friends or family, we don’t always trust them, AND often, they are our problem. Psychotherapy is nonjudgmental, encouraging, and intentionally about you. It’s where you learn your obstacles and learn how to move or get around them. It’s accepting help, so that you no longer need help. I use an eclectic counseling approach that combines Motivational Interviewing (helps you identify how ready your are, how willing you are, and how able you are to make change), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (explores connections to your thoughts, feelings and behaviors), and Solution Focused Therapy (explores solution-building rather than problem-solving).
