Therapist Overview

I enjoy working with clients dealing with loss and transition and those struggling with anxiety and depression. I help my clients learn to “stop thinking” and be more present in their lives. This reduces irritability, negativity, and the feeling of being overwhelmed or preoccupied. Together, we work to increase awareness of where they hold tension in their bodies and what triggers this tension. Often, we identify the emotions that are underneath the anxiety and they begin to heal by learning to accept and “sit with” these difficult feelings with compassion. Many of my clients have experienced trauma, loss or are from families affected by mental illness, addiction or disability. Often, they sensed they needed to grow up quickly. Sometimes, naming such an experience as “a loss” is healing in itself. Clients are able to let go of shame they’ve carried for most of their lives for not “being enough.” I enjoy working with clients as they find their own voice, hope, and meaning
