Therapist Overview
It can feel uncomfortable reaching out for help, but we all benefit from outside support sometimes. I offer counseling to individuals struggling with life and role transitions, major life changes, and other challenges. Change can be difficult, whether expected or unexpected, and can cause challenges for kids, teens and parents who are trying to navigate life. I work with a variety of concerns, such as anxiety and depression, relationship problems, life transitions, spiritual and religious concerns, women’s issues, diabetes, autoimmune diseases and chronic illness issues. As a Type 1 Diabetic for 30+ years, I have realized how little support there is for people living with and affected by diabetes and other chronic illnesses. Counseling can be a resource for both the client, and those close to them, who may be dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety or needing better coping skills related to managing these conditions. Aside from the physical toll that illness has on the body, there is also the emotional strain it has on overall well being and relationships, which may result in daily physical and emotional challenges. I have worked in all levels of mental health therapy, from inpatient care, partial day hospitalization care, to outpatient and individual therapy.
